Posted by nahetsblog on May 27, 2011

According to Peak College Chancellor Matt Klabacka, "This type of accident could be prevented if it is deemed operator error. There are many operators out there who don’t understand the dangers of a mobile crane. Peak College is just one of many operator training schools which train individuals to pass the NCCCO national exam.

YAVAPAI COUNTY – A man is dead after he lost control of the crane he was driving, causing it to roll down a hillside and flip over.

At 1 p.m. today, a 28-year-old quarry worker died when the 100-ton crane rolled over near "Jake’s Granite Quarry," on state land at milepost 5, just off Date Creek Road, according to Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

It took over six hours to right the crane and access the body.
